Chief Keef Finally Signs

Chief Keef comes from less than humble beginnings. The 16-year-old Chicago rapper is a father with a criminal history but he has a large backing in Chicago. His song “I Don’t Like” went viral on YouTube, eventually shocking everyone when it was featured by Kanye West. Since then, Chief Keef’s career has taken off, eventually landing him this lucrative deal with Interscope.

Fellow rappers Lil Reese and Lil Durk recently signed with Def Jam Records. (Some think Def Jam signed them as a part of a strategy to attract Keef.)

Artists fight for one record deal and most never even get it. But teenage Chief Keef, found himself blessed to be at the center of the ring while labels threw deals at him from all directions. Finally, the fight is over and Chief Keef has signed a deal with Interscope Records. Hold your tears unsigned rappers, there’s even more. Not only has Keef signed a deal with Interscope Records for millions, but he’s being given his own line of Dr. Dre headphones called “Beats by Keef”; a multi-million dollar film deal with Interscope; and his own label deal for GBE imprints. So summing it up, Keef is now the youngest artist to own a label in the music industry. Cry now.

Congratulations to Chief Keef. Beneath is the link to “I Don’t Like” if you haven’t heard it yet and want to know what all the fuss is about.
