Mom Set House On Fire To Kill Son?

41-year-old, Lamonica Anganette Hill, is still being investigated today after she allegedly set her apartment on fire September 13 around 1 a.m with her child still in the home.

She told fire investigators that she had set her apartment on fire while her heavily medicated son slept in another room was because she was sleep-walking and dreaming about grilling. But as of today, officials still aren’t buying her story.

Evidence contradicts Hill’s story, indicating that she intentionally set the blaze.

“I can’t speculate on her motive to telling that story, but obviously, we had enough evidence to show that was not the case in this situation,” Capt. Carrie Bowling of the Lexington Fire Department told reporters.
Although the motive for the act is still unknown, it’s still being investigated.

Hill and her son managed to escape the blaze safely with the help of a 911 dispatcher who guided her via phone.

After the incident, police placed Hill under arrest and charger her with first-degree arson and attempted murder on Monday. But while she pleaded not guilty to her charges, a judge set her bond to $500,000 and ordered a comprehensive care assessment.

Hill’s child has been placed with a caregiver and is reportedly doing well.
