Hushed

He’s making a list and checking it twice…

Archer is not a monster. He’s just looking out for his best friend. At least, that’s what he tells himself.

After a traumatic experience in his childhood, Archer Pond has decided to get revenge on those who have wronged him and his best friend Vivian.

By killing them off, one by one. And making it look like an accident.

Then Evan comes along and gives him motivation to change his ways. But the further he falls, the more jealous Vivian becomes, and Archer quickly learns that redemption is not as simple as a couple therapy sessions….

After reading several reviews on Goodreads about this novel, I purchased the book for my Kindle app, and was immediately taken with the characters, especially Archer. Archer and Vivian’s backstory is heart wrenching, and the events that take place are simply the result of two children who remained co-dependent for so long, that their lives began to fall apart. Archer and Evan’s relationship isn’t pushed on readers, nor does it feel like an after-school special type novel. Their friendship turned relationship progresses naturally and beautifully, and you can’t help but root for them.

To be perfectly honest, Hushed has probably been the best book I have read all year.

Fans of suspenseful thriller films and fans of Showtime’s hit show Dexter will more than likely devour Kelley York’s fast paced novel Hushed. York skillfully creates a story filled with suspense, angst, romance, and murder(!).

Perfect for fans of YA thrillers, Hushed will leave readers on the edge of their seats until the very last page.

  1. I actually want to go out and buy this now.

  2. Carina Browder says:

For further clarification, the book is called Hushed. That’s what I get for reading too many novels at once.

  3. I’m going to buy it as I sell back textbooks after finals.
